Climb for the Cause – September 2025

Each year the TCF has a fundraising event called the Climb for the Cause to raise funds for refugees in need who wish to study at a post-secondary institution in British Columbia. This year’s goal is to have 100 participants over four different events and raise $10,000 to fund the endowment for the Jennifer Pearson Terell Refugee Award for Continued Studies.

All the funds raised go directly to awards for refugees. Your support and participation can make a real difference in the life of a refugee. This is an excellent team-building activity for colleagues and/or students to get the school year started and achieve great heights!  Put your team together, set a fundraising goal, and climb together. The team and individual with the greatest fundraising total will win a prize!

There will be prizes!

  • Fundraise $200+: TCF insulated water bottle
  • Top individual fundraiser: $200 in gift cards
  • Top team: $50 per person up to $500 for a restaurant of their choice

This book was published last year by UBC Press and contains inspiring stories of resilience from newcomers to Canada.
